My Journey

Hello! I'm Janessa Nickell, a transformative coach and content creator passionate about the intersection of personal development, holistic wellness, and spiritual growth.

My journey, like many transformative paths, wasn't linear. From the outside, my early life appeared successful by conventional standards—a Stanford undergraduate degree with honors, an MBA and full tuition scholarship from the University of Minnesota, a thriving business consulting career with Fortune 100 clients, a long-term relationship and marriage, and a beautiful home on a small acreage. Yet beneath that external success, I struggled with severe self-doubt, insecurity, imposter syndrome, and people-pleasing behaviors.

Achievement had become my coping mechanism, but as with all coping mechanisms, it worked until it didn't. Despite my outward accomplishments, I felt constricted inside, struggling to extend kindness and compassion to myself. As a result, I was often closed off from others and shut down internally.

Then came what I now recognize as my initiation—a chapter of profound transformation where everything seemed to unravel at once. I left my corporate job, navigated a divorce, lost my home and pets, and found myself face-to-face with pain, loss, and grief I didn't know how to process.

Initially, I did what many of us do—I ran. I rushed into new relationships, career opportunities, and living situations that weren't aligned with my true desires. I was trying to outpace the pain, until I realized that healing doesn't happen through avoidance.

The turning point came when I slowed down and began asking deeper questions: What do I truly value? What brings me genuine fulfillment? What matters to me beyond external validation?

This inquiry led me to explore both the practical aspects of wellbeing—nutrition, fitness, and physical health—and the spiritual dimensions of purpose, relationships, and creativity. I discovered that these seemingly separate domains are deeply interconnected, each informing and enhancing the other.

Today, my life isn't perfect, but it's authentically mine. I run my own business and organize my life around meaningful work and my creative passions. I experience profound peace with my body and eat, move, and rest in ways that foster true wellbeing. I have close relationships that are founded on honesty, respect, and mutual appreciation for health and healing.

The ways I spend my time, energy, and resources reflect my values and what matters most to me. This is why I'm passionate about helping others navigate their own transformative journeys. I believe the more we embody authenticity and integrity, the more we can enjoy our lives and contribute to positive change in our world and communities.

My Approach

My coaching philosophy centers on a fundamental belief: you have the answers within you. My role is not to tell you what to do or who to be, but to create a supportive container where you can drop beneath the noise and expectations of everyday life to hear your own inner wisdom.

I bring together my diverse training and experience in business, holistic coaching, astrology, yoga, reiki, nutrition, and fitness to meet you where you are and support your unique journey. This integrative approach allows me to help you address tangible aspects of your wellbeing (nutrition, fitness, daily habits) and the intangible dimensions (purpose, relationships, life direction).

What makes my approach unique is how I weave together these different threads:

  • Astrology serves as an energetic mirror, reflecting patterns and potentials that can illuminate your authentic path and life purpose

  • Health & wellness coaching grounds your spiritual insights into practical, embodied actions that support your physical vitality

  • Life coaching bridges the gap between insight and implementation, helping you align your daily choices with your deepest values

Clients often tell me that I create a space where they feel safe to let their armor fall away, getting in touch with what's really true for them in that moment. I do this through deep listening, open-ended questions, and reflective observations that help you recognize your own patterns and possibilities.

My work adheres to the International Coaching Federation's code of ethics, ensuring confidentiality and clarity about the coaching relationship. I'm not a therapist, consultant, or teacher—I'm a supportive coach for your process and life-changing transformation.
